July TBR

Hello….. It’s me…..

I’m sorry that I haven’t been posting anything lately… Lately, I have been feeling a little bored and upset. My mother says that moods can change when we are on a diet, so I think that’s happening to me. This past weekend was the worst for me, I think, because I didn’t lose weight last week. My Sunday was pretty bad for me. I felt so disappointed with myself, even though the doctor has told me that this could happen. He told me that I’m going to have times when I barely lose weight, but then I can lose a lot later. I already knew that this could happen, but I literally just started my diet, so I expected more weight loss by now… But I feel better now. Actually, when I woke up today, my dad came to my room and gave to me 3 of the 5 books I ordered a week (or two) ago! I mean, any bookworm feels so much better at the mere sight of a book, so imagine getting 3 books at once! However, I’m not going to talk about my bookmail today because I just remembered that I haven’t posted my July TBR!

I have been on a reading slump since July started. Really, I have read, like, 10-15 pages until now… As I said before, I haven’t finished yet the last two books of June… I really want to finish them this week, so that I can read other books that I should have read in June.

Here are the books I hope I read after the ones I haven’t finished yet. I really do believe that this diet changed my mood, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop following it! I’m sure I’ll get better!

I’m pretty sure that, once I have read the other 2 books, I’ll start reading I’ll Give You the Sun, by Jandy Nelson. I think I really need a YA Contemporary to make me feel better.

Then, I would like to read The 100, by Kass Morgan. I guess it’s a very light read, even though it’s Sci-Fi. Since I’m moody these days, I think this is also the right choice for me.

Last, but not the least, I hope I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, by Laini Taylor. It’s not a light read, but I think it’s something that I will, at least, like, because FANTASY and ANGELS and FORBIDDEN LOVE! YASSSSSS!

Well, that’s it for today!

What about you? What have you read so far this month? Are you enjoying your reads?

June TBR

Wow, this is the 3rd post I write today here!

Rihanna music video work rihanna work work work work work work work

Ok, ok, let’s be serious. Here you can see the books I want to read this month:

I’m planning on reading these 5 books, but I hope I read another one, or other 2 books.

Here you can see 2 Contemporaries, 2 Fantasy books and one Sci-Fi novel.

Since these are Portugues editions and you probably don’t recognise all of them, I have more photos below, as well as the synopsis of each book.

I’m currently reading Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell, and even though I have only read 74 pages, I’m loving it! There are many popular references that I actually don’t understand (*shame on me*), but I’m still enjoying it! I love the fact that Eleanor and Park started talking because of music and comic books. That’s so adorable! And Rainbow’s writing is so simple and light, which is always good in a YA contemporary novel!

This is the Portuguese edition of The Final Empire, by Brandon Sanderson. Isn’t it beautiful? I really love this cover!
This book is the first one in a Fantasy trilogy, which is called Mistborn. This first book has 4.41 stars on Goodreads and, of course, many people love it and they say this is one of the best Fantasy novels out there right now. I really can’t wait to read this. Can you believe that it’s been on my shelf for more than a year? Yeah, shame on me, indeed!

20160601_160323Another book I want to read this month is Daughter of Smoke and Bone, by Laini Taylor. This is the Portuguese edition and it looks AMAZING! This is the first book of Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and it has 4.03 on Goodreads. There are many people that loved this book because Laini Taylor’s writing is poetic and I love that kind of writing! Also, this book has angels and forbidden love. Yessssss!

This is the Portuguese edition of I’ll Give You the Sun, by Jandy Nelson. It’s a YA contemporary novel and there are LGBTQ characters. I don’t know if it has POC characters, tho. Anyway, I bought this last summer and I should have already read it, but college started and, of course, I had to read the books that were important for my classes. But now I can read it and I’m really excited about this! It has 4.16 stars on Goodreads.

The last book on my June TBR list (or maybe not!) is The 100, by Kass Morgan. I actually want to read this one because I love its book-to-tv show adaptation! It’s pure awesomeness! Many people say that the book isn’t as good as the tv show, but I want to read it, anyway. I thought this was going to be a trilogy, but the author has already said that there’s a new book coming! The 100 has 3.55 stars on Goodreads.

Ok, I think this is enough for today! I will write more posts tomorrow. I actually have a book tag to answer!

What are you planning to read this month?

March TBR!

It’s already 5th March and I haven’t posted what I’m going to read this month…

But, don’t worry, bookish people! Here it is! BEHOLD!

That’s right, I have to read 4 books this month! Actually, 5, but I don’t have the 5th one yet.
I said “I have” because they are all for college, which means that there are no free choices this month… You know, books that I REALLY WANT to read…

It’s not that I’m unhappy about the books I have to read for college! it’s just that I won’t have time to read the ones I really want to read and that have been waiting for me to read them since a long time ago!

Anyway, all these books are in Portuguese, except Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. I have to do a presentation about it next month. It has been on my TBR list since last year, when I saw it on my local bookstore, in ENGLISH, which is something that is kind of rare here. I can’t wait to read it!

What about you, dear bookish friends? How many books are you going to read? What are you going to read?

February TBR

Okay, so I’ve told you that January was an EPIC FAIL because I wanted to read, like, 7 books, but I only read 3. Good job, Daniela.

Why was I so lazy in January????

I should have read all the books I wanted to read in January because soon… COLLEGE STARTS AGAIN AND OMG, THE PAIN!

Well, it’s starts on 11th February, which means that I still have time to read. Also, I don’t think February is going to be a busy month in terms of college stuff (assignments and exams) because I have, in total, 5 subjects, and 3 of them are totally new in this new semester, so, I hope that nothing bad happens this month. By bad, I mean WORK.

Anyway, here’s my February TBR:

I should have those Harry Potter books in January, but I didn’t… I hope I read them before college starts.

Then, there’s The Longest Ride, by Nicholas Sparks. I’m in a (Portuguese) Goodreads group. Monthly, there’s a theme and we read a book that is related to that theme. For February, the goal is to read a romantic novel or a funny book because here, in Portugal, we LOVE to celebrate Carnival. However, I chose to read a romantic book. I guess.

Finally, the other two books were both written by a Portuguese writer, valter hugo mãe. He’s from Angola, but he is a huge success here in Portugal and I think he even lives in the mainland (by the way, I live in an island; that’s why I said “mainland”). Anyway, I really want to read his two books (he has more, but I decided to read these 2) before 20th February because he’s coming to my island in that day for a session about literature and other things. I think I’m going to that session and, to ge prepared, of course I’m goint to read some of his books. In the end, there will be an autograph session and I don’t any autographed book, so HELL YEAH.

So, what about your TBR for this month?

January TBR

So…. I only read 2 books in December… You know how many I really wanted to read? NINE BOOKS!!! Amazing… Congrats, Daniela…

It’s okay, 10… I’ll be better this month…

But, hey, I promise I’ll read more this month! After all, this is the perfect to celebrate my birthday. Yup, my birthday is on 19th January, and I’ll turn 19 this year! How wonderful!!!!

Well, here’s my January TBR:

I want to read the last 4 Harry Potter books. Then, I want to read Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. But before I read the illustrated book, I hope I can read other books that I have on my shelf. Anyway, this is my official January TBR!

The funny thing about Throne of Glass is that I have it in Portuguese, which is the book that is in the pic. But I also have it in English… So, I don’t know if I’ll read it in English first, or in Portuguese… I mean, I think it’s better if I read it in English first.

That’s it for today! What’s your January TBR?? 😀

December TBR!!!

November was such a bad month for reading… I only read ONE book (it was for college; by the way, there are still missing 50 pages…. May the odds be ever in my favor…) and do you know how many books I bought this month? ZERO! Yup… Zero…

Anyway, today is the first day of December. Oh, December, you are such a wonderful month!
The first semester of college is almost over and I CANNOT WAIT to read the books I have on my TBR pile! I mean, I think I have more than 20 books! Oh, yessssssssssss!
You are probably thinking: “Wow, will you have time to read all of them before 2nd semester?” Well, the answer is “Yes” because I’ll have 2 months without college! HELL YEAHHHHHHHHH!

So, yup, I’ll read all those books!

Here are some of them:

These books are classics. Some are Portuguese classics, others are English, and there’s an American classic, and a French one too. Pretty excited about this pile!

The other pile has Fantasy books, as well as Dystopian books. There are also 3 YA contemporaries that I want to read (I have read Hopeless, and I don’t know why it’s in this TBR pile):

For December, I want to read, at least, these books:

Yup, I do hope that December is a better month for books than November… November was horrible….

Bye, bye, November! Helloooooooooooo, December!!!
