WWW- Wednesdays: 22nd June

Hello, bookworms! How are you?

I want to say thank you to everyone who wrote kind comments on my last post. Yesterday, I kind of talked about my body issues, which is something that I have never done before on internet. Those words really made me smile and I am so happy that there is still kindness in this mad world! Thank you for you encouraging words on my new diet! Tomorrow I will have my first appointment, my first step towards a hard journey, but I am sure it’s going to be good for me. It’s time to do something for myself!

For those who are having a hard time because of their own bodies, you can do it! You can be happy! You can work hard to achieve whatever your goal is! And if you can’t do something at first, try again! Try harder! Fall! Get up! Smile!

Hugs for all of you!

Now, let’s move on!
Since I have been on a reading slump lately, my TBR for this month is not going well. I am still reading The Final Empire, by Brandon Sanderson, but I am loving it. And I have to change my June TBR because I want to read a book from an author that is coming to my island.

So, let’s do this weekly meme!

All you have to do is answer these questions with images of the books that are related to each question. The 3 Ws from the title stand for the following questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

As I said, I am still reading The Final Empire, by Brandon Sanderson. The Portuguese
edition has 621 pages. I started reading it on June 1oth and I have only read 3334 pages! I don’t know what is going on with me! :c

What did you recently finish reading?
Ahm, nothing…

What do you think you’ll read next?

I was planning on reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone, by Laini Taylor. However, I decided to a meeting session with a Portuguese author, Joel Neto. He is Azorean, which means that, like me, he is from the Azores, a group of nine Portuguese islands. He isn’t from my island, tho.
Anyway, he will be here to present his new book, which is the one I’m going to read after The Final Empire.

The title is A vida no campo, which can be literally translated to Life in the Countryside.

If you would like to know more about this book (even though there is no English edition of it, only in Portuguese), here’s a synopsis translated by me:

A man and a woman. A garden and a vegetable garden. Two dogs. After twenty years in the big city, Joel Neto settled in Dois Caminhos, in Terceira. Surrounded by a stunning landscape, the childhood memories and an array of simple neighbours , he found that, after all, life can even be quieter, cheaper and free. And, perhaps, more intelligent.

And that’s is for today!
What about you?

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Hello, bookworms! How are you?

The last time I did this weekly meme was in January! OMG!
I think I stopped doing this because I was in some kind of a reading slump and then college was about to start again, so I decided that this meme would be useless. But it’s back!!!

Portuguese edition.

I am currently reading The Final Empire, by Brandon Sanderson. It’s the first book of a Fantasy trilogy, Mistborn trilogy. However, the author has added two books, so it’s a series now.

Mistborn: The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1)
I have only read 90 pages (by the way, I’m reading it in Portuguese) and I’m really enjoying it! I really like Brandon Sanderson’s writing because, when someone writes Fantasy, the authors like to write in a very peculiar, complex way, which can be a problem sometimes, but I think that, in this case, the writing is really good and simple. Also, I’m loving meeting these fantastic characters! Vin, which seems to be the main female character, is my favorite one so far!

On your right, you can see one of the US editions. I actually prefer the Portuguese edition because IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL AND BADASS!

I just finished reading Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell, and if you want to find out what I think about this novel, you should read my review. But I can say I LOVED IT SO MUCH!

Portuguese edition.

After The Final Empire, I really want to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, by Laini Taylor. It’s the first book in Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy.

To know more about it, here’s the synopsis:

Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1)
US edition.

Around the world, black hand prints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grows dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherworldly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious “errands”, she speaks many languages – not all of them human – and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

I was invited to read this in December, so that I could write a review about it. I have actually read the first 100 pages and I liked them. But, then, I had a problem with my tablet and I had to stop. Now that everything is okay, I’m going to read the following pages because I do remember everything from those 100 pages :p

Well, that’s it for today! Tomorrow I’ll write another weekly meme post! See ya!
